Total Time 25 minutes
Servings: 24 cookies

Ingredients

For the Cookies:
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 1/4 cups brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
For the Maple Icing:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • Pinch of salt

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and brown sugar together until fluffy.
  3. Mix in egg, maple syrup, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Add dry ingredients into wet mixture and stir until combined.
  6. Chill dough for 20–30 minutes.
  7. Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing cookies apart.
  8. Bake for 9–10 minutes until edges are lightly golden and centers remain soft.
  9. Cool completely before making icing.
  10. Whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk, and salt until smooth, then drizzle over cookies.

Notes

Use real maple syrup for the best flavor. Chilling the dough helps prevent spreading and keeps cookies thick and chewy. Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
