Servings: 24 cookies

Ingredients

  • Cookie Base
  • 1 box vanilla or white cake mix 15.25 oz
  • 8 tbsp unsalted butter softened
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Mix-Ins
  • 2 cups Oreo chunks roughly chopped
  • ¾ cup red white & blue M&Ms (divided)
  • ½ cup patriotic sprinkles divided

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat softened butter and cream cheese until smooth.
  3. Add egg and vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  4. Add cake mix and stir until thick dough forms.
  5. Fold in Oreo chunks, half the M&Ms, and half the sprinkles.
  6. Scoop dough into 2-inch balls and place on prepared baking sheet 2 inches apart.
  7. Press remaining M&Ms and sprinkles on top of each cookie.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set but centers still look soft.
  9. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire rack.

Notes

Softened cream cheese prevents lumps.
Don’t crush Oreos too small—bigger chunks give better texture.
Slightly underbake for chewy centers.
Extra M&Ms on top improve the final look.
Dough freezes well for future baking.
